Now Teaching in the Seattle, WA area

Luke Sayers taught guitar to me and my two children in our home for a period of a year. He brings extraordinary musicianship, skill, dedication and good humor to each of his teacher-student relationships. More than a guitar or piano teacher, Luke is a music teacher, who is responsive to his students' diverse musical tastes and is interested in promoting musicianship and encouraging each student to go in the direction of his/her musical interests. - Dan London

Helping students realize their goals while discovering their gifts through an individualized approach toward learning to play the music they love. All ages and levels can be accommodated; whether you're a beginner or seeking to get to the next level by studying technique, theory, ear training, composition, transcription, and/or improvisation. Though specializing in acoustic music, all genres are covered. Through transcription, any song the student wishes to learn can also be taught. Song choices are supplemented with basic theory instruction based on the key and related scales, and vice-versa, giving the student the necessary understanding needed to own the material. With 12 years of professional experience as a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, arranger, touring artist, studio musician, and private instructor, students see the real life benefits of following the program thus providing extra incentive to practice.

After hearing Luke’s latest CD, Radio Flower, Rich Albertoni of Madison, Wisconsin’s Isthmus wrote “Sayers sounds like a songwriter who's found his musical calling.“ The passion for performing and "an unmistakable heartfelt sincerity" (Illinois Entertainer) that come from heeding his calling are obvious to anyone who has been at one of Luke’s live shows. A full range of emotion is expressed during each performance with Luke’s "powerful, passionate voice” (Martin Bandyke - 107one FM Ann Arbor, MI) excitedly stirring the souls of the audience one minute, while in the next “songs such as Delaying Disaster and The Letter amble along on the singer's comforting voice and delicate strumming” (The Chicago Tribune).
Since 2005, Luke has released 3 independent solo CDs; Songbook; the introduction (2005), Long Way Back (2007), & Radio Flower (2008).
